Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh launched six new features of National Agriculture Market (e-NAM) platform in New Delhi. Mr Singh said the new features will make it more user-friendly. He said e-NAM is one of the major and important flagship schemes of the government which is being implemented with the objective of providing competitive and remunerative price to farmers for their products through an online competitive bidding process.
The Minister said, till now e-NAM has reached 479 mandis across 14 states and 1 union territory. e-NAM website is now available in eight different languages (Hindi, English, Gujarati, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali and Odia) while live trading facility is available in six different languages.
