The President of India Smt Draupadi Murmu, speaking at the inauguration of the Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show, praised the event as a significant initiative to bring Uttar Pradesh’s products to both domestic and international markets. The President noted with satisfaction that over 2000 manufacturers are showcasing their products, with more than 400 buyers from 66 countries participating in this trade show. She expressed confidence in the event’s potential to serve as a powerful platform for Uttar Pradesh manufacturers and entrepreneurs to expand their presence globally.
Despite being a landlocked state, Uttar Pradesh’s exports have seen continuous growth, with exports increasing from around Rs. 88,000 crore in 2017-18 to approximately Rs. 1,75,000 crore in 2022-23. She pointed out that the G20 New Delhi Leaders’ Declaration underscores the importance of local value creation and addressing challenges faced by MSMEs while connecting them internationally. She expressed confidence that the Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show would align with our national and international priorities, in line with the goals of the G20.
The President commended the showcasing of products from the ‘One District One Product’ program at the trade show and highlighted the participation of young entrepreneurs, particularly women entrepreneurs. She emphasized the importance of increasing women’s participation in entrepreneurship and the labor force.
