Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is scheduled to participate in the forthcoming All India Conference of Director Generals and Inspector Generals of Police – 2023, to be held at the Rajasthan International Centre, Jaipur, from January 6th-7th, 2024.

The conference is set to cover an extensive range of topics, including Cyber Crime, Technology in Policing, Counter Terrorism challenges, Left Wing Extremism, and Prison Reforms. An integral component of the conference agenda will focus on discussing the strategic implementation of recently enacted criminal laws.

In addition to the immediate security concerns, the conference is designed to address forward-looking themes in policing and security, with a specific emphasis on emerging technologies such as AI and Deepfake. The objective is to equip law enforcement agencies with the necessary strategies to navigate contemporary security challenges.

The annual conference facilitates the exchange of best practices among police and intelligence officers across district, state, and national levels, fostering a collaborative learning environment. Prime Minister Modi has consistently demonstrated a deep interest in these conferences since 2014, actively participating in sessions to facilitate substantive discussions. Informal thematic exchanges over meals have been incorporated to encourage open dialogue and the exchange of ideas.

Annual DGP conferences is being organised across the country since 2014, promoting a collaborative and coordinated approach to addressing policing and internal security concerns. The upcoming conference in Jaipur continues this tradition, providing a platform for high-level officials, including the Union Home Minister, National Security Advisor, MOS for Home Affairs, Cabinet Secretary, DGP of States/UTs, and Heads of Central Armed Police Forces and Central Police Organizations, to discuss critical security issues affecting the nation. The conference aims to identify actionable points for progress, aligning with the government’s commitment to a robust and collaborative approach to national security.
