Oil India Limited (OIL), one of India’s premier upstream oil and gas companies, has commenced natural gas production from the Bakhritibba Discovered Small Field (DSF) block in Jaisalmer District, Western Rajasthan, effective 1st June 2025.
Demonstrating rapid project execution, OIL has successfully drilled three MWP wells within the stipulated development period under DSF Round III. Initial production from the block stands at 67,200 SCMD (Standard Cubic Metres per Day), with plans to scale up to 100 MSCMD, significantly contributing to domestic gas supply.
This achievement highlights Oil India’s continued focus on accelerated asset monetization, even in the harsh desert terrains of Rajasthan. The success of the Bakhritibba block reinforces OIL’s commitment to energy security through resilience, operational excellence, and sustainable development in challenging frontier regions.
