NLC India Ecological balance activities for any Mining Industry

Shri. Piyush Goyal, Honourable Minister of State (IC) for Power, Coal, New & Renewable Energy and Mines, Government of India visited Neyveli on 04.10.2016. A red carpet welcome was given to him at Neyveli helipad . The Honourable Minister was accompanied by Dr. Sarat Kumar Acharya, CMD and Directors of NLC India Ltd.

As part of his visit, Honourable Minister visited Mine-I, and observed the mining operations. While visiting the Township view point at the high dump area of Mine-I, he was very much impressed by the aerial view of the Township with covered greenery.  He inaugurated the newly developed Eco Park located over 12 acres and planted a sapling in the afforestation area of Mine-II and  concluded his Industrial visit at TPS-I Expansion.

In a meeting organised at Lignite Hall, Honourable Minister Shri Piyush Goyal addressed the employees of NLC India, in his address he said that NLC India Limited is one of the finest and vibrant organizations with efficient, energetic employees who are sharing common goal. He appreciated well defined environment policy and environment activities of organization. He said NLC India’s mining with environmental care can be role model for any mining Industry and its Intiatives   will become part of Nations growth Story.

Also, Hon’ble Minister said his own confidence increased by seeing each level of NLC India. He   appreciated the dedicated and committed works of NLC India Management and Trade Unions and Associations and wished them for their teamwork to achieve the targets for the growth of the organization.

In the presence of  Honourable Minister and Dr. S. Manian, Vice-Chancellor, Annamalai University, NLC India entered an MOU with Annamalai University, Chidambaram for starting “NLCI-AU Skill Development Center  and as a first step to start a Diploma Course from this academic year in Mining  to  realize the National Skill Development Mission of Government of India.  Shri S.Sridhar, Executive Director/CSR of NLC India and Dr. K. Arumugam, Registrar, Annamalai University signed and exchanged MoU.

Shri Rakesh Kumar, Director/Finance, Shri Subir Das, Director/Mines, Shri V. Thangapandian, Director/Power, Executive Directors, officers and employees of NLC India Limited participated in this event. Earlier Hon’ble Minister flagged of the Swachh Bharat awareness rally organized by Neyeli School Children numbering 1200.
