Shri Nilabhra Sengupta IRSSE (1997) presently CVO- Bharat Electronics Ltd. (BEL), Bengaluru has been given premature repatriation to his parent cadre.
Mr. Nilabhra Sengupta, IRSSE (1997 batch), assumed charge as Chief Vigilance Officer of M/s Bharat Electronics Limited on deputation from 2nd December 2024. An accomplished professional with a distinguished career spanning over 25 years in the Government of India, he brings a wealth of expertise across diverse domains, making him a valuable asset to the organization.
Mr. Sengupta completed his Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics and Telecommunications from Jadavpur University, Kolkata, in 1996. He joined the Indian Railway Service of Signal Engineers in 1998, embarking on a career marked by technical excellence and a commitment to public service. His early assignments included serving as Assistant Divisional Railway Manager (Operations) in the Eastern Railway, Howrah division, where he gained in-depth experience in operational management and safety oversight of train operations.
Over the years, he has held significant positions that reflect both his technical acumen and leadership capabilities. Before his current deputation, he served as Chief Signal and Telecom Engineer/Projects at Metro Railway Kolkata, demonstrating a strong command over metro technologies, project management, and infrastructure development. Concurrently, he held the additional charge of Director (Rolling Stock and Systems) in Kolkata Metro Rail Corporation, where he contributed to strategic planning, procurement, and system integration projects.
His career also includes deputation stints at RITES and Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation between 2014 and 2017, further broadening his exposure to large-scale urban transport projects and advanced signaling systems.
Mr. Sengupta’s professional journey encompasses a rare combination of technical expertise, administrative proficiency, and strategic insight. He has extensive experience in signaling and telecommunications, metro technology implementation, safety of train operations, budget management, procurement, personnel administration, and information technology.
