Shri Navin Agarwal IPS (Jammu Kashmir 1986), has been given extension in upgradation of the post of Chief Executive Officer/ Director General, National Anti Doping Agency (NADA) from the level of Director to the level of Joint Secretary in National Anti Doping Agency (NADA) under the Department of Sports, for term upto 26.06.2020.

He is a post- graduatein Physics from the University of Delhi,and also holdsa post- graduate diploma in Financial Management. Prior to joining the IPS he had served in Indian Forest Service, and Indian Revenue Service (Income Tax), and had also been awarded the National Prize and Merit Certificate by Govt of India. During foundation course for IPS officers at SVP National Police Academy Hyderabad he received the Director’s Commendation for highest marks in indoor subjects, and awarded as all-round best officer-trainee.

 

During his 3 decades of selfless and dedicated service in the state of Jammu & Kashmir (J&K), he worked on a number of important assignments, including Senior Superintendent of Police and Deputy Inspector General of several districts and Criminal Investigation Department, Inspector-General of Armed Police, Adl Director-General of Security and Director-General of Prisons. He hasundergone various trainings within and outside the country, including CrisisResponse Team Course atLouisiana State Police Academy USA and Mid- Career Training Programme at London Business School. He has also authored a number of papers on diverse topics like cyber-crime,human rights, and community policing in reputed journals. For his outstanding contribution towards public service in various fields Shri Navin Agarwal has been awarded various medals including Govt of India Civil Defence medal in 2006, Indian Police Medal for meritorious service in 2006, Sher-e-Kashmir medal for meritorious service in 2011, and President’s Police medal for distinguished service in 2013.

As SSP of district Pulwama and Rajouriduring the peak of militancy in J&Kfrom 1990 onwards he fought terror bravely and survived several attempts on his arms, ammunition and explosives was seized. His contribution against terror was also noteworthy in 2003 in his capacity as DIG Doda-Udhampur Range, when under his supervision a number of counter- insurgency operations were launched with great success with elimination of most of the top hierarchy of terrorists in the range, without any collateral damage, and zero human rights violation.
