MRPL registered Q3 net profit at 970 Cr net up 71%


Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd (MRPL) has registered a profit-after-tax of 970 crore in the third quarter of 2017-18 against a profit of 567 crore in the corresponding period of 2016-17, recording a growth of 71.07 per cent.

GRM (gross refining margin) of the refinery for the third quarter of 2017-18 stood at $9.27 a barrel against $7.43 a barrel in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal.

(GRM is the difference between the price of crude and end products such as diesel, petrol, etc.) In rupee terms, GRM works out to around 1,973 crore (1,617 crore).
