The Ministry of Education has responded to recent media reports concerning the blending of science and mythology in the Chandrayaan 3 Special Modules. They emphasize the need to equip teachers and students with knowledge beyond traditional textbooks, fostering a deep sense of national pride and appreciation for India’s accomplishments. The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has proactively taken steps to achieve this.

To make significant achievements accessible, NCERT has developed enriched curricular resources across various themes. These themes cover topics like Women’s Empowerment, COVID management, Sustainability, Democracy, National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, and the Chandrayaan-3 mission.

The initial focus is on Chandrayaan-3, with ten modules meticulously crafted to provide a comprehensive understanding of this mission, including scientific, technological, cultural, and social aspects. These modules are interactive and designed for students from grades 1 to 12, encouraging self-paced learning.

Acknowledging the contributions of ISRO scientists, including luminaries like Dr. Vikram Sarabhai and Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, NCERT highlights their roles in different modules. These modules are available on the NCERT website, aiming to instill scientific temper and a sense of pride in our country’s achievements among students, teachers, and parents.
