The Ministry of Culture (MoC) has reported significant progress during the third week of the Implementation Phase of Special Campaign 3.0. The achievements of the ministry during this period are as follows:

Furthermore, the ministry has conducted a cleanliness drive at 404 sites out of 449 sites across the country, freeing approximately 1050 sq. ft. of area by disposing of scrap and generating revenue of Rs. 3,57,999. They have also reviewed and closed 8072 physical files and 114 e-files out of 15,969 physical files and 2133 e-files, respectively.

As part of their best initiatives, various organizations under MoC have undertaken creative initiatives related to “Waste to Art.” For example:

  • National Council of Science Museum (NCSM) created a sculpture of a mosquito using waste items like discarded syringes and wires.
  • North Eastern Zonal Cultural Centre (NEZCC) organized a 3-day workshop/campaign on the theme ‘Waste to Art’ and crafted sculptures of Goddess Maa Durga and a deer using discarded waste materials.
  • Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) carried out cleanliness drives at 400 sites out of 449 identified by the ministry, including monuments and 25 World Heritage Sites.

Additionally, the National Archive of India (NAI) has conducted restorative conservation of records, repairing 21,425 sheets, 140 files, and binding 45 volumes of records in its collections. The ministry is also collaborating with other government ministries for joint appraisal of files as per the provisions of Public Record Rules. They are organizing special training sessions for officers in various departments, and daily progress is monitored and uploaded on the SCDPM portal as part of Special Campaign 3.0.
