The district magistrate of West Tripura and additional secretary to Chief Minister, an IAS officer of 2009 batch Dr Milind Ramteke and an Agriculture officer of Tripura Arun Bhattacharjee were awarded by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the occasion of 12th Civil Service Day yesterday in Vigyan Bhawan New Delhi for their excellent performance.Both the officers were honoured with the Prime Minister’s Award for Excellence in Public Administration-2018. They were awarded with the coveted laurel for the excellent work done for implementation of Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) in the year 2017-18 under West Tripura District.
Both the awardees of Tripura were able to successfully implement the crop insurance scheme in the district at the personal initiative when it was announced two years ago by the Prime Minister.The previous government was not interested to campaign the scheme among the farmers at political level but they implemented the project successfully and some farmers were also go benefit of crop loss last year.
