Maharashtra cabinet approves 1% reservation for orphans in govt jobs

The Maharashtra cabinet has approved one per cent reservation for orphans in government jobs under general category .Addressing a press conference after the cabinet meeting in Mumbai, state Minister for Women and Child Development, Pankaja Munde said, the provision will help in the rehabilitation of these kids and help secure their future.

The state cabinet has also approved the Maharashtra State Innovation and Startup policy, which aims to attract investment of 5,000 crore rupees.

This government plans to set up 15 start-up incubators that will help in the launch of about 10,000 start-ups generating employment opportunities for five lakh people directly and indirectly. In another decision, the cabinet has approved a MoU with Mekorot, the national water company of Israel for setting up water grids in the drought-prone Marathwada region. The cabinet also cleared a proposal to give financial assistance to gram panchayats, which do not have office building of their own.
