Shri Longjam Siddhartha Singh IA&AS (1994) presently Additional Secretary &
Financial Advisor, Ministry of Defence has been given extension in central deputation for a period up to 12.05.2026 .
Mr. Siddhartha Singh Longjam is a distinguished officer from the Indian Audit & Accounts Department, Government of India, with a decade-long track record in auditing and governance. A certified professional in both Information Systems Auditing and Internal Auditing, he has consistently demonstrated deep expertise and a commitment to enhancing transparency and accountability within public institutions.
Mr. Longjam was honored with the prestigious Prime Minister’s Award for Excellence in Public Administration in 2008, recognizing his contribution as part of the pioneering team that introduced Information Systems Audit within government operations—a significant step toward modernizing public administration.
Between 2006 and 2011, he served on deputation as Director in the Ministry of Steel, where he was instrumental in overseeing key responsibilities such as inter-agency coordination, restructuring and mergers of steel public sector enterprises, and the development of corporate social responsibility initiatives. His role also extended to addressing regulatory and policy matters concerning India’s ship recycling industry, a sector vital to both environmental sustainability and economic development.
An academic achiever, Mr. Longjam holds a Master of Science degree in Physics from the University of Delhi, which reflects his analytical rigour and discipline. He brings to his work a unique blend of technical knowledge and policy insight.
Passionate about reform, Mr. Longjam is dedicated to promoting citizen-centric governance. His goal is to contribute toward a more transparent, responsive, and effective government system in India. During his fellowship year, he will be pursuing a Master of Public Affairs, aiming to further strengthen his capacity for leadership in public service.
