Online Fresh Application Module for Notary Appointments

Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal, Hon’ble Minister of State (Independent Charge) for the Ministry of Law and Justice, today launched the “Fresh Application Module” on the existing Notary Portal for inviting online applications for appointment as Notary Public under the provisions of the Notaries Act, 1952 and the Notaries Rules, 1956.

The newly launched module enables eligible legal practitioners/advocates to submit applications online through the Notary Portal. Developed by the Department of Legal Affairs in association with the National Informatics Centre (NIC), the module is designed to make the application process more transparent, efficient and citizen-friendly.

Highlighting the key features of the Notary Portal, Dr. Rajiv Mani, Secretary, Department of Legal Affairs & Legislative Department, stated that the Fresh Application Module has been seamlessly integrated with the existing portal, which already offers various online services relating to the appointment of Notaries. He added that the module incorporates automated workflows and a user-friendly interface to ensure smooth and efficient processing of applications.

Speaking on the occasion, the Hon’ble Minister said that the launch of the module marks another significant step towards realizing the vision of Digital India envisioned by the Hon’ble Prime Minister by promoting a paperless, transparent and citizen-centric system of governance. He added that the user-friendly module will simplify the application process and enhance ease of access for aspiring Notaries.

The Department of Legal Affairs will invite applications through the module from time to time, based on the requirements under the Notaries Act, 1952 and the Notaries Rules, 1956. Detailed instructions and guidelines for submission of applications will be made available on the Notary Portal.

The launch of the Fresh Application Module marks a significant milestone in strengthening digital governance by providing a streamlined, transparent and efficient mechanism for processing applications for appointment as Notaries.
