Shri K Sabari Raj Kumar IPS (West Bengal 2010), presently Joint Commissioner of Police- Howrah Police Commissionerate, has been transferred and posted as DIG – CID, West Bengal.
The Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) – CID, West Bengal, is a senior Indian Police Service officer entrusted with supervising investigations under the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the West Bengal Police. The CID handles complex, sensitive, and high-profile criminal cases that require specialised expertise beyond district-level investigation, including organised crime, economic offences, cybercrime, homicide, and inter-district criminal networks.
As a key supervisory officer, the DIG – CID monitors major investigations, guides Special Investigation Teams (SITs), ensures adherence to legal procedures, and coordinates with forensic experts and prosecution authorities. The officer also liaises with central agencies and other state police forces in cases involving interstate or national ramifications.
