Justice R Vijayakumar presently Additional Judge now appointed as Judge of Madras High Court , in exercise of the power conferred by clause (1) of Article 217 of the Constitution of India to the President of India, after consultation with Chief Justice of India, vide notifications dated 03.03.2023.
Born on 22.12.1970. Completed Bachelor of Law at Madras Law College and Master of Law in Property Law (Gold medalist). Enrolled in the Bar Council of Tamil Nadu on 13.10.1993. After enrollment joined the Chamber of Mr. T .R. Rajagopalan, Senior Advocate and former Additional Advocate General and Mr. T. R. Rajaraman. Empaneled as Counsel for Tamilnadu Civil Supplies Corporation before the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court. Practiced as an Advocate in the Madras High Court between 1993 and 1997, independent practice in Civil and Writ side in the Madras High Court between September 2002 and July 2004 and independent practice in Civil, Writ and Criminal side before the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court from August 2004 onwards. A Resource Person in Tamil Nadu State Judicial Academy between 2000 and 2003 and faculty in topics relating to Transfer of Property Act and from 2017 onwards on various topics of Civil Law. Elevated as Additional Judge of the High Court of Madras on 20.10.2021.
