Shri Justice Pankaj Jain presently Additional Judge- Punjab and Haryana High Court has been appointed as Judge- Punjab and Haryana High Court.
Justice Pankaj Jain was born to Mrs. Pushpa Jain and Mr. Amrit Lal Jain in a family of lawyers. Justice Pankaj Jain’s father is a reputed Lawyer and practiced for several years in the Hon’ble Punjab and Haryana High Court before retiring from professional life in the year 2018. His Lordship completed his graduation from DAV College, Chandigarh in 1993. His Lordship did M.A. Economics from Panjab University in 1995 and secured distinction. His Lordship has been regularly contributing as columnist to various newspapers. His Lordship qualified law from Panjab University, Chandigarh in 1998 and joined the profession, starting his practice in the High Court of Punjab and Haryana. He was enrolled with the Bar Council of Punjab and Haryana in the same year.
During his period at the bar, he practiced in various fields of law such as civil, criminal, constitutional and Labour. His Lordship was appointed Senior Panel Counsel by the Government of India in 2014. His Lordship was appointed as Senior Standing Counsel to represent the Union Territory, Chandigarh on 27.12.2018 and continued to hold office till His Lordship’s elevation. His Lordship was designated as Senior Advocate by Punjab and Haryana High Court, Chandigarh on 26.05.2021.
Justice Pankaj Jain was elevated to the Bench as an Additional Judge of Punjab and Haryana High Court, Chandigarh on October 29, 2021.
