Indian Bureaucracy, Lucknow, May 11, 2025| In a breaking development, the Uttar Pradesh government has initiated another round of transfers, this time deploying senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officers. Key assignments include a new Inspector General (IG) for the Lucknow Zone, and adjustments to the command structure in Kanpur Zone with the appointment of new Additional Commissioners of Police (ACP) and Deputy Inspectors General (DIG).
A detailed list of officers, based on new location of posting including their immediate and new assignments, is provided below for your reference.
Lucknow
- Shri Tarun Gauba IPS (Uttar Pradesh 2001), presently Police Commissioner, Prayagraj Commissionerate, is transferred and appointed as Inspector General of Police (IG) – Lucknow Range, Lucknow, UP Police.
- Shri Sanjeev Tyagi IPS (Uttar Pradesh 2010), presently ACP, Police Commissionerate Agra, is transferred and appointed as DIG – Prisons Administration & Reforms, Lucknow, UP Police.
- Shri Pradeep Gupta IPS (Uttar Pradesh 2010), presently DIG, Telecom, Lucknow, is transferred and appointed as IG – Prisons Administration & Reforms, Lucknow, UP Police.
- Shri Upendra Kumar Agarwal IPS (Uttar Pradesh 2005), presently IG, Lucknow Range, is transferred and appointed as IG – Pradeshik Armed Constabulary (PAC) HQRS, Lucknow, UP Police.
- Shri Hemant Kutiyal IPS (Uttar Pradesh 2011), presently DIG, UP Special Security Force (SSF), Lucknow, with additional charge of DIG, Department of Prisons Administration & Reforms, is relieved of additional charge of Department of Prisons Administration & Reforms, UP Police.
- Shri Amit Kumar IPS (Amit Kumar-II Uttar Pradesh 2015), presently Commandant – 24th BN, PAC, Muradabad, Uttar Pradesh, is transferred and appointed as Commandant – 35th BN, PAC, Lucknow, UP Police.
Kanpur
- Shri Ashutosh Kumar IPS (Uttar Pradesh 2001), presently IG, PAC HQRS, Lucknow, is transferred and appointed as Additional Police Commissioner – Kanpur Commissionerate, UP Police.
- Shri Harish Chandra IPS (Uttar Pradesh 2010), presently Additional Commissioner of Police (ACP), Kanpur Commissionerate, is transferred and appointed as Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) – Kanpur Range, Kanpur, UP Police.
Agra, Prayagraj and Muradabad
- Shri Ram Badan Singh IPS (Uttar Pradesh 2011), presently DCP, Police Commissionerate Gautam Budh Nagar, is transferred and appointed as ACP – Police Commissionerate Agra, UP Police.
- Shri Jogendra Kumar IPS (Uttar Pradesh 2007), presently IG, Kanpur Range, is transferred and appointed as Police Commissioner – Prayagraj Commissionerate, Prayagraj, UP Police.
- Shri Ramesh Prasad Gupta IPS (Uttar Pradesh 2014), presently SP, Logistics, Lucknow, is transferred and appointed as Commandant – 24th BN, PAC, Muradabad, UP Police.
