A contingent of 32 personnel from an Indian Army battalion affiliated with the Rajputana Rifles will undergo the ASEAN Defence Ministers Meeting (ADMM) Plus Expert Working Group (EWG) Counter-Terrorism Field Training Exercise (FTX) 2023. The exercise is scheduled to take place in Russia from September 25 to 30, 2023. This multinational joint military exercise is co-hosted by Russia and Myanmar, and it follows a Table Top Exercise of the ADMM Plus EWG on Counter Terrorism held in Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar, from August 2 to 4, 2023.

The ADMM Plus brings together ASEAN member states and Plus Group countries to facilitate dialogue and cooperation. The primary objective of this year’s exercise is to enhance regional cooperation in counter-terrorism efforts. The exercise will involve various counter-terrorism drills, including operations to eliminate terrorist groups in fortified areas. The Indian Army aims to share its expertise and foster collaboration with the 12 other participating nations, expecting a valuable professional experience from the event.
