India has secured the honor of hosting the prestigious International Congress on the Chemistry of Cement (ICCC) in 2027, following a successful bid presented by India’s leading research and academic institutions, the National Council for Cement and Building Materials (NCCBM) and IIT Delhi. The bid was presented during the ongoing 16th ICCC in Bangkok, Thailand, and was chosen over bids from Switzerland and the UAE. The announcement was made on September 20, 2023, during the 16th ICCC in Bangkok.

The International Congress on the Chemistry of Cement is a premier event that reviews advancements in cement and concrete research and has been held since 1918. India previously hosted the 9th Congress in New Delhi in 1992. Hosting this event in New Delhi in 2027 provides a unique opportunity to convene global leaders, experts, and innovators in the cement sector. It showcases India’s research and academic prowess and offers a chance to spotlight New Delhi’s vibrant culture, world-class conference facilities, and exceptional hospitality.

The National Council for Cement and Building Materials (NCCBM), an apex Research and Development organization under the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India, will ensure the seamless execution of this significant event. India’s booming economy, robust cement industry, and expertise in circular economy practices make it an ideal backdrop for discussing global challenges such as sustainable development, decarbonization, energy efficiency, and more.

This momentous event in 2027 will bring together stakeholders from around the world to collaborate, innovate, and drive progress in the cement and concrete industry.
