Secretary I&B, Shri Ajay Mittal, met a delegation of senior journalists who are visiting India on a familiarisation programme. During the discussions, Secretary I&B, gave an overview of the key policies and initiatives of the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting. He highlighted the initiatives taken recently with regard the broadcasting and the film sector in the domain of FM phase III and Film certification.
Shri Mittal also apprised them of the role and relevance of Government communication in the light of the vast diversity existing within the media landscape. During the meeting, the delegation was also informed about the role and relevance of the public broadcaster within the media terrain. Members of the delegation were also briefed on sector wise initiatives and the growth potential of the M&E sector in India. Senior officials from the ministry were also present on the occasion.
