How exercise can improve your brain functioning and help you crack interviews

Apart from physical well-being, exercise also helps in boosting your mental health. It can actually improve your brain functioning and bring out the best version of you. Won’t that be a plus point to your available talent?  I am sharing few pointers out of my own experience which are proven by researches also:

1.) Stress buster – Perform a grueling workout session at gym or park or at home for an hour or so and you will start feeling light-headed. Yes, when many fitness maniacs say exercising is their dope, they are not wrong at all, it is actually.  Physical activity helps pump up the production of your brain’s feel-good neurotransmitters, called endorphins and stress from your body starts bidding goodbye. So, a person who exercises on a daily basis will no doubt experience overall less stress at tedious situations and will no doubt think calmly before taking any action. So, it increases your chance of performing better during interviews too.

2.) Personality enhancement – When you exercise your body starts the process of transformation, you start eating right, take out time for exercise no matter how and give your best as your brain starts getting conscious about health. This leads to a newer you, you start getting fit in your old clothes, positive aura surrounds you and it starts reflecting on your face also (it works like a chemical reaction). You start getting compliments which further add to your confidence. And as we say at the time of interview “First impression is last impression”.  If your skills have 90 points, you carry 10 points of your physical appearance and well-being too.  So capture those 10 points too.

3.) Brain power – A recent study proved that exercise helps producing certain chemicals that are required by the brain to perform certain functions such as memory, multi-tasking and problem solving.  All these functions play an important role while you are working and at the time of interviews too. Nobody will like to get blanked even for a second during interviews, right? Better brain functioning helps you chose the suitable answer for the question asked by the interviewer. You might face few problem solving tasks during interview also, so, exercise can actually help you outperform by boosting your problem solving skill and brain power.

4.) Better sleep cycle – It is an old saying that a good workout helps you sleep like a baby at nights. As I have discussed my earlier article also that one requires at least 6-8 hours of sleep for proper body functions. Night before a big meeting, interviews or presentations are usually tense and one might feel restless. And if hit by insomnia, you may feel lethargic the next whole day and chances of missing important details gets high. Exercise helps maintain proper hormonal functions and help you sleep well.

5.) High self-motivation levels – Person having enhanced energy, improved brain function combined with a good sleep cycle and clean eating leads to happiness. All these factors actually lead to a better overall performance. You can also say that happiness and self-motivation is complimentary to each other. And we all know how important self-motivation is on a big day.
