Indian Bureaucracy, Mumbai, May 30, 2025| Mumbai has witnessed a major police reshuffle involving 13 Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs), comprising 6 IPS and 7 SPS officers to effectively manage city’s capacity to tackle complex and organized crime, cyber threats, and narcotics trafficking, thereby aiming to improve overall public safety and law enforcement effectiveness. These appointments are placed across various crime control departments, including the Crime Branch, Special Branch, Economic Offences Wing (EoW), Cyber Crime, and Anti-Narcotics Cell, as well as various zonal responsibilities within the city. Detailed list of the officers and their present and new postings is listed below.
- Shri Krishna Kant Upadhyay IPS (Maharashtra 2012), presently Deputy Commissioner of Police(DCP), HQ-I, Mumbai City, is transferred and appointed as DCP – Zone-III (3), Mumbai.
- Shri Rakesh Ola IPS (Maharashtra 2012), presently Superintendent Of Police (SP), Ahmadnagar, is transferred and appointed as DCP – Zone-VII (7), Mumbai.
- Shri Raj Tilak Roushan IPS (Maharashtra 2013), presently AIGP, Law & Order, with additional charge of PRO , DGP Office, M.S., Mumbai, is transferred and appointed as DCP – Crime (Detection), Crime Branch, Mumbai.
- Shri Nimit Goyal IPS (Maharashtra 2014), presently DCP, Armed Police, LA-V, Kole kalyan, Kalina, Mumbai, is transferred and appointed as DCP – Special Task Force, EOW, Mumbai.
- Shri Sameer Aslam Shaikh IPS (Maharashtra 2016), presently Superintendent Of Police (SP), Satara, is transferred and appointed as DCP – Zone-VI (6), Mumbai.
- Shri Purshottam Karad IPS, presently DCP, Special Branch – I, CID, Mumbai, is transferred and appointed as DCP – Cyber Crime, CID, Mumbai.
- Shri Datta Nalawade SPS, presently DCP, Crime, is transferred and appointed as DCP – Zone-X (10), Mumbai.
- Shri Mahesh Dharmaraj Chimate SPS, presently DCP, Special Branch – I (Protection), Mumbai, is transferred and appointed as DCP – Zone-XII (12), Mumbai.
