Shri Justice Hamarsan Singh Thangkhiew was administered the oath of office of Judge of the High Court of Meghalaya in the Chief Justice’s Court Room by Hon’ble Shri.Mohammad Yaqoob Mir, Chief Justice, High Court of Meghalaya.

His Lordship was born on December 24, 1966 and has completed his B.A. Hons (Economics) from North Eastern Hill University in the year 1987 and LL from Delhi University in the year 1990.Prior to his appointment as Judge, High Court of Meghalaya, his Lordship was enrolled as an Advocate in the Bar Council of Assam, Nagaland, Meghalaya, Manipur,

Tripura, Mizoram and Arunachal Pradesh in the year 1990-1991 and later designated as Senior Advocate by the Gauhati High Court in August 2010. His Lordship has practiced at the Gauhati High Court, Principal Seat, Guwahati and Shillong Bench presently the High Court of Meghalaya. His Lordship has mainly practiced in areas of Civil, Constitutional, Customary (Local Tribal) and Company Law. His Lordship has also been a member of several organizations and institutions viz. member of the Bar Council of Assam, Nagaland, Meghalaya, Manipur, Tripura, Mizoram.
