Shri Justice Huluvadi Gangadharappa Ramesh presently seniormost Judge of the Madras High Court, to perform the duties of the office of Chief Justice of that High Court with effect from the date Kumari Justice Indira Banerjee, relinquishes charge of the office of the Chief Justice of the Madras High Court .

He enrolled as an Advocate on Mar 12, 1981 , practised in the Courts at Mysore and Bangalore Districts and High Court at Bangalore . He joined Karnataka Judicial Service as District Judge on Feb 02, 1993 and promoted to the Cadre of District Judge (Super Time Scale) on June 23, 2000. He was appointed as an Additional Judge of High Court of Karnataka on Sep 08, 2003 and as a Permanent Judge on Sep 24, 2004, transferred to Allahabad High Court on Feb 16, 2015, transferred to Madras High Court and Assumed charge as Judge of the Madras High Court on 11.04.2016. He was appointed as Acting Chief Justice of the Madras High Court with effect from 16.02.2017 to 04.04.2017 and again from 07.08.2018 to 11.08.2018.
