Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) Development of North-Eastern Region (DoNER), MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr Jitendra Singh has informed that the disciplinary proceedings can be initiated against the All India Services Officers (i.e. Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS) and Indian Forest Service (IFoS) for misconduct including corruption charges, under the All India Services (Discipline and Appeal) Rules, 1969; apart from liability for prosecution under Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 in cases of corruption.

Department of Personnel & Training deals with corruption cases involving IAS officers.  Central Government has granted sanction for prosecution against 17 IAS officers in 23 cases since January 2015.  Also, as per information received from Ministry of Home Affairs, sanction for prosecution has been granted to prosecute three IPS officers during last three years (2015 to 2017) including this year.  As per information received from Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, 16 cases of corruption against IFoS officers have been noticed and sanction for prosecution has been granted in 4 cases during last three years.
