Shri Dinesh Garg has been appointed as Company Secretary and Compliance Officer of REC Limited.
Shri Dinesh Garg is an accomplished corporate governance leader with an outstanding professional journey spanning more than twenty years across the public and private sectors. A Commerce and Law graduate from Delhi University, he brings a strong academic foundation to the corporate compliance domain. He is also a Fellow Member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India and holds Master’s degrees in both Law and Business Administration (Finance), reflecting his multidisciplinary understanding of business, legal frameworks, and financial regulation. Throughout his career, Shri Garg has consistently demonstrated a commitment to building transparent, ethical, and well-regulated business ecosystems.
Across various leadership positions, he has played an instrumental role in driving efficiency, strengthening corporate governance, and ensuring organizational compliance within diverse industries. His expertise covers a wide spectrum of functional areas including Board Administration, Regulatory and Statutory Compliance, Stakeholder Management, Public Relations, Legal Advisory, and Corporate Strategy. Known for his detail-oriented and solution-driven approach, he has helped organizations navigate complex governance environments with competence and stability. In the early phase of his professional journey, Shri Garg headed the Legal and Secretarial Department of Evinix Accessories Limited. During this tenure, he independently managed key responsibilities that included the Company’s IPO and listing, legal compliance management, documentation, and litigation matters. His contribution in establishing an effective compliance culture and supporting organizational expansion during this phase cemented his early reputation as an emerging governance expert. His next role with NDTV further strengthened his portfolio. As Company Secretary & Manager (Legal) between 2008 and 2012, he was responsible for leading the Company’s legal and compliance functions, handling regulatory matters, and supporting Board and senior leadership in critical legal decisions. His work contributed significantly to promoting transparency, corporate ethics, and risk mitigation in a media-sensitive operational environment.
In 2012, Shri Garg joined HCL Infosystems Ltd. as Manager & Company Secretary, where he continued to contribute to high-performance governance systems. His responsibilities covered company law matters, secretarial functions, internal policy formulation, compliance management, and facilitation of Board and Committee meetings. His experience across large corporate groups and diverse sectors shaped him into a leader capable of building high-trust business environments.
Shri Dinesh Garg has now been appointed as Company Secretary and Compliance Officer of REC Limited, a significant milestone in his distinguished career. REC Limited, a Maharatna Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Power, plays a critical role in financing India’s power infrastructure. The Company supports national and state-level energy projects including generation, transmission, distribution, renewable energy, and emerging sustainable sectors.
