A number of raw materials and technologies of aeronautical systems are imported from technologically advanced countries. These include metallic and rubberised materials, components and sub-systems of various systems, engine, flight control system, etc. However, many of the technologies are not available for purchase. A Committee headed by Air Marshal M Matheswaran (Retd.) made several recommendations for development of critical technologies in Aeronautical sector.
