As part of National Cyber Security Awareness Month, the Ministry of Coal organized a “Workshop on Cyber Security” to raise awareness and sensitize Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) and organizations under its control about current cyber security challenges and the implementation of best practices.

In his keynote address, Secretary Shri Amrit Lal Meena emphasized the increasing importance of cyber security, particularly with the growing use of online services and digital platforms. He highlighted the sophistication of cyber threats and stressed the need for organizations, businesses, and individuals to understand these trends and risks to protect themselves from cyber-attacks.

Joint Secretary Shri Sanjeev Kumar Kassi, in his welcome address, reiterated the significance of cyber security, noting that it is not just about protecting digital assets but is a critical element in safeguarding our way of life. As reliance on technology deepens, the importance of cyber security further increases.

The workshop, attended by officials from the Ministry of Coal, senior representatives from Coal India Limited (CIL) and its subsidiaries, SCCL, NLCIL, CMPFO, CCO, as well as eminent speakers from NIC, Cyber Security Group, and I4C (Indian Cybercrime Coordination Centre) under the Ministry of Home Affairs, aimed to equip attendees with valuable knowledge and insights to implement the best cyber security practices within their organizations. The event aligns with the National Strategy for Cyber Security, contributing to a more secure digital landscape. Attendees were encouraged to organize engaging programs like quizzes and informative sessions to raise awareness among employees and stakeholders. The workshop concluded with a vote of thanks expressing gratitude to all participants and presenters for their valuable insights.
