There is a casual vacancy in the Council of States from Jharkhand. The details are given as below:-

Bye-election to the Council of States from the State of Jharkhand could not be conducted earlier to fill up the above mentioned casual vacancy due to the pendency of Election Petition No. 12 of 2010 (Sh. Baidyanath Ram Vs. Sh. Kanwar Deep Singh and others) before the Hon’ble High Court of Jharkhand at Ranchi.
Now, the High Court has dismissed the said petition vide its order dated 30th April, 2015.
The Commission has decided to hold the bye-election to the Council of States from Jharkhand to fill up the above said vacancy in accordance with the following programme: –
