Powered by a robust 950 HP engine, this 100-ton engineering marvel reflects BEML’s commitment to innovation and self-sufficiency, fully designed and developed by its in-house team at the flagship manufacturing facility in Kolar Gold Fields (KGF), near Bangalore.
The BD475-2 Dozer epitomizes technological excellence and world-class innovation, addressing the growing demands of both domestic and global markets. Equipped with a state-of-the-art Cummins QST30 electronic engine compliant with EPA Tier-II emission norms, it delivers 950 FHP at 2100 rpm. Its semi-U blade, with a capacity of 25.6 cubic meters, is built for durability, maintainability, and serviceability, making it indispensable for mining operations.
Shri Shantanu Roy, CMD of BEML Ltd., inaugurated the dozer, stating, “We take immense pride in launching the BD475-2, a landmark achievement in India’s journey toward self-reliance. Developed by our in-house team, this dozer integrates eco-friendly features with exceptional performance, setting new benchmarks in the mining sector.” Advanced engineering innovations, such as a planetary power shift transmission, torque converter with lockup clutch, and a modular powertrain, ensure exceptional fuel efficiency and longevity. Additional features like pivot shafts, pinned equalizer bars, and Anti-Vibration Mounts (AVM) enhance undercarriage life while reducing noise and vibration, thereby ensuring improved operator comfort. The acoustically refined cabin, furnished with pneumatic suspension seating and an advanced electronic monitoring system, further optimizes operational safety and control.
