Shri Akhil Pilani IAS (Haryana 2018), presently District Municipal Commissioner, Yamunanagar and Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Yamunanagar, is transferred and appointed as Deputy Commissioner – Nuh and CEO – Mewat Development Agency, Nuh, Haryana.
Shri Akhil Pilani, a promising officer of the Indian Administrative Service, has been appointed as the Deputy Commissioner of Nuh and Chief Executive Officer of the Mewat Development Agency, Nuh, Haryana. Prior to this posting, he was serving as the District Municipal Commissioner, Yamunanagar, and Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Yamunanagar, where he contributed to strengthening urban administration and municipal governance. His new role in Nuh marks a significant responsibility as the district and the Mewat region are known for their unique developmental challenges and socio-economic priorities.
An engineer by academic training, Shri Pilani holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Information Technology from Delhi University. His technical background has provided him with sharp analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and a modern outlook on governance—traits that have enhanced his approach to administrative responsibilities.
Beginning his IAS journey, Shri Pilani underwent training as an IAS Probationer at LBSNAA, Mussoorie, and later served as Assistant Commissioner (UT), Ambala, during his cadre training. These initial assignments gave him valuable exposure to district administration, land revenue management, and public service delivery, equipping him with a strong foundation for future leadership roles.
In Yamunanagar, as District Municipal Commissioner and Municipal Corporation Commissioner, he gained substantial experience in urban governance, civic infrastructure management, and service delivery to citizens. His work in these roles showcased his ability to integrate administrative discipline with citizen-centric governance.
Now, as he takes charge of Nuh district and the Mewat Development Agency, Shri Akhil Pilani is expected to bring his energetic and modern administrative approach to address developmental needs, improve public services, and implement welfare initiatives.
