Indian Bureaucracy, Hyderabad, June, 06, 2025| In a significant bureaucratic reshuffle, the Government of Telangana transferred and appointed thirty-six IAS officers across key positions on Monday. The changes mark one of the largest realignments in recent months, with 16 officers moving into Secretary-level roles, three appointed to crucial Commissioner posts in Land Acquisition, Survey & Records, and Registration & Stamps, along with seven new District Magistrates. Additional appointments were made in the Human Rights Commission and the State Information Commission.
At the central interface level, the state has given fresh emphasis to coordination with the Union Government. Dr Shashank Goel (1990), Special Chief Secretary, has been designated as Resident Commissioner at Telangana Bhavan, New Delhi. He will serve as the principal link for the state with the Centre. Gaurav Uppal (2005) has been appointed as Secretary, Coordination for GoI Projects & Centrally Sponsored Schemes at the same office, to further strengthen the state–centre project alignment.
Within the Secretariat, senior officers have been reassigned to key policy departments. Navin Mittal (1996), earlier heading Revenue and Land Administration, has been posted as Principal Secretary, Energy Department. His former portfolio has been entrusted to Lokesh Kumar D S (2003), who now takes charge as Secretary, Revenue Department and Chief Commissioner, Land Administration. N Sridhar (1997) has moved to Panchayati Raj & Rural Development while continuing to oversee Mines & Geology and Industries & Commerce.
Other senior appointments include Jyoti Buddha Prakash (2002), now Secretary, Scheduled Caste Development with additional charge of Planning, and Rajeevgandhi Hanumanthu (2012) as Special Secretary, Registration & Stamps with additional responsibilities in Survey, Settlement & Land Records and Bhu Bharati project.
At the district level, seven new District Magistrates have been appointed, reshaping leadership in Nizamabad, Siddipet, Sangareddy, Hanamkonda, Khammam, Medchal–Malkajgiri, and Hyderabad. Notably, Harichandana Dasari (2010) takes charge as Collector, Hyderabad; Vinay Krishna Reddy (2013) moves to Nizamabad; K Hymavathi (2013) is posted in Siddipet; and P Pravinya (2016) has been shifted to Sangareddy.
Additional changes affect specialised bodies, with Valluru Kranthi (2016) appointed as Managing Director of Telangana Tourism Development Corporation, Priyanka Ala (2016) as Secretary of the Telangana Public Service Commission, and A Nirmala Kanthi Wesley (2016) designated Secretary & CEO of the Human Rights Commission.
