213 Probationers of Indian Railways (2019, 2020 & 2021 batch) call on President of India

A group of 213 probationers from Indian Railways, spanning the 2019, 2020, and 2021 batches, met with the President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, at the Rashtrapati Bhavan Cultural Centre .

During the meeting, the President highlighted that the Indian Railways, unlike any commercial organization, serves as a social lifeline for the country, carrying the dreams of ordinary people. She praised the railway’s efforts in upgrading services to create memorable experiences and showcase India’s diverse culture to both its citizens and international visitors.

Emphasizing the socio-economic significance of railway infrastructure development, the President commended initiatives like the ‘Amrit Bharat Station scheme,’ which focuses on redeveloping railway stations using green technology and providing world-class amenities. She expressed confidence in the young officers’ role in modernizing and greening the Indian Railways and contributing to national development.

The President advised the officers to acquire comprehensive skills, knowledge, and expertise within the broader transport ecosystem. She emphasized the importance of studying and adopting best practices from both national and international contexts. Stressing the need for an efficient multi-modal transport system, she encouraged a holistic approach to rail, road, air, and water transportation, and called for close coordination with other departments to achieve self-reliance and national development.
