Eleven CRPF Jawans were martyred in a Maoist attack today in Chhattisgarh’s insurgency-affected Dantewada district.
Quoting police sources, that 7 other Jawans have been seriously injured and are being shifted to state capital Raipur. All these Jawans belonged to 74th batallion of CRPF and were involved in providing security to a road construction project in the interiors of Dantewada.
They were ambushed and attacked simultaneously at two different places of Burkapal and Chintagufa, by maoists. The jawans fought bravely, however the maoists succeeded in causing heavy damage to security forces and also took away their weapons.
The reinforcements have reached the incident spot and bodies of martyrs are being evacuated. The intensive search operations have been launched immediately after the incident.
