As part of its Platinum Jubilee Celebrations, 1 Army HQ Signal Regiment organised a Special Sainik Sammelan on 24th June 2016 in New Delhi at the unit location. The event was chaired by Maj Gen BP Murgai (Retired), who commanded the Unit from 1971 to 1973. The Special Sainik Sammelan was witnessed by both serving and retired personnel of the Unit.
Maj Gen BP Murgai (Retired) complimented the unit for its achievements. He also released the “First Day Cover” on the occasion of the Platinum Jubilee of the unit.
1 Army HQ Signal Regiment is responsible to provide communication and public address system to Army HQ and also for important National level events such as Republic Day Parade. The unit also actively participated in rescue and relief operations, namely, Op Meghrahat (J&K floods in 2014) and Op Maitri (Nepal Earthquake in 2015). The unit has been conferred with the Vice Chief of the Army Staff Unit Citation twice in year 2008 and 2015 for its outstanding service.
