The Ministry of Women and Child Development has announced an Internship Programme for women students, scholars, social activists, and teachers from Non-Tier I cities and rural parts of India. The duration of the internship is two months, from July 3, 2023, to August 31, 2023. Interested candidates should be enrolled in or associated with any university, academic institution, or non-academic institution.
The objective of the programme is to familiarize the interns with the policies and programs of the Ministry by offering them a short-term association. Interns may be required to undertake pilot projects or micro-studies focusing on the ongoing activities of the Ministry. The Ministry aims to provide interns with qualitative exposure to its mandate, specific programs, and policy analysis, enabling them to proactively address women and children’s issues on various platforms in the future.
Candidates between the ages of 21 and 40 are eligible to apply through the provided Google Forms link: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1UWK5W_07pRxL8yekBy6DbjAg2-25Vd_WJwfnc4nReTU/viewform?edit_requested=true.
The form started accepting responses from May 20, 2023, at 00:00 HRS, and the last date to submit applications is May 29, 2023, at 23:59 HRS. The selection of interns will be based on the recommendations of a Selection Committee specifically constituted for this purpose. The list of recommended candidates will be available on the Ministry’s website under the ‘What’s New’ section. Once selected, a candidate will not be eligible to apply for the Internship Programme again.
Selected interns will receive a monthly stipend of Rs. 20,000 and reimbursement of travel costs (by deluxe/AC bus or 3 Tier AC train) for the journey to join the programme at the Ministry and return at the end of the programme. Hostel facilities will be provided on a sharing basis for willing interns during their stay in Delhi. The hostel will include basic amenities such as triple sharing accommodation with attached bathroom (excluding mattress), table, chair, and cupboard. Mess charges are not included and are the responsibility of the intern availing the hostel facility.
The hostel facility will be available from two days prior to the start of the programme until two days after the end of the programme. For example, for an internship batch starting on July 3, 2023, the hostel facility will be available from the forenoon of July 1, 2023, until the afternoon of September 2, 2023. Interns who successfully complete the Internship Programme will be awarded a certificate.
