#HQIDSRaisingDay | On its 23rd Raising Day, Headquarters Integrated Defence Staff (IDS) commemorates a legacy of unwavering service to the nation. Lt Gen JP Mathew, Chief of Integrated Defence Staff to the Chairman, Chiefs of Staff Committee (CISC), paid homage to our fallen heroes at the National War Memorial in New Delhi.
Established on October 01, 2001, HQ IDS stands as a tri-service entity dedicated to advancing India’s national security architecture. Guided by the motto ‘Victory Through Jointness’, it has been at the forefront of initiatives to enhance integration and joint operations among the Services.
Over the past two decades, HQ IDS has spearheaded critical national initiatives, including force structuring, technology management, intelligence consolidation, military diplomacy, joint training, and disaster relief operations. It has played a pivotal role in operationalizing significant establishments like the Defence Space Agency, Defence Cyber Agency, and Armed Forces Special Operations Division.
The establishment of the Department of Military Affairs (DMA) and the appointment of the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) mark transformative reforms that have injected fresh momentum into Tri-Services synergy, modernization, and the overall transformation of our Defence Services.
