Shri Rameswar Teli has been appointed as Minister of State in the Ministry of Food Processing Industries.During a brief interaction with Media in his Office, Shri Teli thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for this opportunity. He added “at the same time, I am humbled by the scope of responsibility put on my shoulders”. The Minister of State was briefed on key initiatives and policy issues by senior officers of the Ministry. The Minister was apprised of the forthcoming challenges facing the Indian food processing sector among others.
Shri RameswarTeli, aged 48, is a Member of Parliament from Dibrugarh constituency in Assam. He is a member of the Bhartiya Janata Party. Prior to his current election, he has been elected as an MP from the same constituency in 2014. Shri Teli has previously been elected to the Legislative Assembly of Assam in 2001 and 2006 from Duliajan constituency in Dibrugarh.
