PFC Consulting Limited (PFCCL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Power Finance Corporation Limited (PFC), a Maharatna Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE), has successfully transferred two transmission project-specific Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs) to Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL), the successful bidder. The SPVs are Ananthpuram Kurnool Transmission Limited and Bhadla III Transmission Limited.
The transfer was formalized in the presence of Shri Manoj Rana, CEO of PFCCL; Mr. Pankaj Pandey, Executive Director (TBCB) of PGCIL; and other senior officials from PFCCL and PGCIL.
The selection of PGCIL as the successful bidder was conducted through a Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) process, in line with the Ministry of Power’s guidelines for the selection of Transmission Service Providers (TSPs) for establishing transmission systems.
Project Details:
- Ananthpuram Kurnool Transmission Limited:
- Purpose: Establishment of a transmission system for the Solar Energy Zone in Ananthpuram (2,500 MW) and Kurnool (1,000 MW) in Andhra Pradesh.
- Scope: Includes setting up a pooling station at Ananthpuram and associated elements.
- Bhadla III Transmission Limited:
- Purpose: Establishment of a transmission system for evacuating power from Renewable Energy Zones (REZ) in Rajasthan (20 GW) under Phase-III Part B1.
- Scope: Includes setting up a pooling station at Bhadla and associated elements.
This strategic transfer reinforces PFC and PFCCL’s role in facilitating the development of critical infrastructure for renewable energy integration, aligning with India’s clean energy goals.
