National Research Development Corporation (NRDC), Chairman and Managing Director, Dr. H Purushotham while inaugurating the two day workshop on Patent Searching said India was rich in research publications but fared poorly in patenting. While India ranked fifth in research publications, it ranked 52nd on the Global Patent Index, he said.
