NBCC has been entrusted with the prestigious responsibility of constructing Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) across various locations in Chhattisgarh. This visionary project, awarded by the Department of Tribal and Scheduled Caste Development, Government of Chhattisgarh, reflects trust in NBCC’s remarkable track record and is valued at an impressive Rs. 459.60 crore.
The initiative stands as a testament to the commitment to empowering tribal communities by enhancing educational infrastructure. Strategically planned, these schools will be established in significant locations, including Bastar (Lohandiguda, Darbha, Bastanar), Sukma (Chhindgarh), Dantewada (Geedam, Katekalyan), Narayanpur (Orchha), Rajnandgaon (Mohla), and Jashpur (Jashpur, Manora), fostering inclusive and sustainable development.
Each EMRS will feature state-of-the-art facilities meticulously designed to create a nurturing and effective learning environment. Modern classrooms, dedicated hostels for boys and girls equipped with warden residences, and well-thought-out amenities such as kitchen and dining spaces highlight the comprehensive planning behind this initiative. Guest houses, principal residences, Type III and Type II staff quarters, and pump rooms for water infrastructure further underscore the holistic approach to addressing the needs of students and staff.
NBCC’s focus on sustainability elevates the project’s significance. Eco-friendly innovations include recharge pits to boost groundwater, solar power systems to harness renewable energy, and rainwater harvesting mechanisms for effective water management. Additional features like solar street lights, compost pits for waste management, and an eco-friendly sewage system demonstrate a commitment to minimizing the environmental footprint.
