Shri K.Ramanujam, former IPS officer (1978) has been sworn in as State Chief Information Commissioner(SCIC) in Tamil Nadu. Ramanujam also worked in the vigilance and anti-corruption wings, working his way up to superintendent of police, deputy inspector-general of police, inspector-general of police and director-general of police. He also served in the counter-terror ‘Q’ branch as SP. TN officers credit Ramanujam with helping to streamline the functioning of the force during his tenure as chief.
