Justice Pankaj Mithal presently Chief Justice- Rajasthan High Court has been appointed as Judge –  Supreme Court of India vide notifications dated 02.2023, in exercise of the power conferred by clause (2) of Article 124 of the Constitution of India.

Justice Pankaj Mithal was born on 17th June, 1961. Graduated in Commerce from Allahabad University in the year 1982 and passed LL.B. from Meerut College, Meerut affiliated to Ch. Charan Singh University in the year 1985. Enrolled as an advocate in Bar Council of U.P. in the year 1985. Practised in the Allahabad High Court from 1985. Worked as Standing Counsel, U.P. Avas Evam Vikas Parishad Lucknow since 1990 till elevation to Bench and as Standing Counsel of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University, Agra since 1990 to February 2006.

Elevated as Additional Judge on 7th July, 2006 and took oath as permanent Judge on 2nd July, 2008. Took oath as the Chief Justice of Common High Court for the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and Union Territory of Ladakh on 4th January, 2021. Took oath as the Chief Justice of the Rajasthan High Court on 14th October, 2022.
