A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was inked between DFCCIL represented by Sh. Anurag Sachan MD and Sh. Puneet Chawla Chairman & Managing Director Railtel for the development, maintenance and marketing of its existing and upcoming telecom infrastructure comprising of Optical Fibre Cable (OFC) network, towers at its various Dedicated Freight Corridors at the DFCCIL Corporate office on 13.02.2020. The telecom infrastructure along the DFC alignment consisting of OFC, Towers, Telecom Network and associated equipment will be leased by RailTel to third parties. Revenue accruing from the sale and marketing of the spare OFC capacity will be shared between both DFCCIL and Railtel. The MoU signing was conducted in the presence of Sh. Anshuman Sharma, Director/PP and senior officials from both DFCCIL & Railtel.
Major Achievements
- Trial Run of Double Stack Container freight train between WDFC’s New Madar – New Rewari section on 27.12.2019.
- First long and Heavy Haul train run on EDFC’s 194 km Bhadan – Khurja section carrying a load of 9,000 tonnes on 14.09.2019
- Trial run of approx. 1000 trains have been completed in the DFC sections.
- To fulfil the demand of market and to carry heavy-haul trains on DFC, two successful RDSO speed trials have been facilitated by DFC on WDFC for BOXN (S) and BLCS A & B wagons
