Prior to this, Shri Pandey served as Joint Secretary & Financial Adviser (JS&FA) in the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment from April 2019 to March 2024. During his tenure, he was entrusted with additional responsibilities as Financial Adviser to multiple ministries, including the Ministry of Culture, Ministry of Tourism, Ministry of Law and Justice, Ministry of Environment, Forests & Climate Change, Ministry of Tribal Affairs, and the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers—underscoring the Government’s confidence in his financial acumen and administrative leadership.

He also served on the governing boards of several important bodies including ITDC, ALIMCO, IITTM, NSFDC, NBCFDC, NDFDC, NSTFDC, and TRIFED.

Additionally, he has served on the governing bodies of cultural and environmental institutions such as Lalit Kala Akademi, Sangeet Natak Akademi, Sahitya Akademi, National School of Drama, National Museum, Central Pollution Control Board, Wildlife Institute of India, National Tiger Conservation Authority, and Dr. Ambedkar Foundation, among others.
