WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook partly restored across the Globe

WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook had gone down in several parts of the world, said users on Monday evening. All the three apps are owned by Facebook and run on shared infrastructure.

“Sorry, something went wrong. We’re working on it and we’ll get it fixed as soon as we can,” said a message on FB website and suggested a Domain Name System (DNS) error. DNS allows web addresses to take users to their destinations and relevant url.  WhatsApp also acknowledged the outage on Twitter. Facebook and issued the same statement through their spokesperson.

Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp were partially reconnected to the global internet , nearly six hours into an outage that paralyzed the social media platform.
