Shri Vaibhav Srivastava IAS (Uttar Pradesh 2009), presently Secretary, Home Department, Uttar Pradesh, is transferred and appointed as Managing Director – Pradeshik Cooperative Dairy Federation (PCDF), Uttar Pradesh.
Pradeshik Cooperative Dairy Federation Limited (PCDF) located in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, serves as the apex body for dairy cooperatives across the state. Established in 1962, PCDF’s primary objective is to encourage and support dairying based on cooperative principles, aiming to eliminate intermediaries and establish a direct connection between milk producers and consumers. The federation markets its diverse range of dairy products, including milk, ghee, butter, curd, and flavored milk, under the popular brand – Parag.
PCDF operates through a very extensive grassroots network of 6 Lakhs rural milk producers through its 59 District Milk Unions and approximately 13,500 Village Dairy Cooperatives in the state. Uttar Pradesh has over 18,000 registered milk societies and more than 18 cluster milk unions operating in the state. PCDF operates through three-tier cooperative structure, linking village level (Milk Producers Cooperative Society), district level (Dughd Utpadak Sahakari Sangh or Milk Producers Cooperative Union), and State Level (PCDF).
Notably, PCDF plays a significant role in the National Milk Grid, even supplying milk to Mother Dairy in Delhi. Beyond marketing, PCDF also empowers its member farmers through cooperative engagement, operating cattle feed plants and training centers to provide essential support and resources for dairy farming.
IndianBureaucracy.com wishes Shri Vaibhav Srivastava the very best.
