Shri Sunil Kumar Verma is a seasoned civil servant, widely respected for his leadership, technical expertise, and commitment to public service. Until recently, he served as Joint Secretary in the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), Ministry of Communications, where he played a pivotal role in steering critical telecom reforms, enhancing digital infrastructure, and contributing to policy development in a rapidly evolving sector.
An alumnus of Madan Mohan Malaviya Engineering College (now MMMUT), Gorakhpur, Shri Verma graduated with a Gold Medal in Electronics & Telecommunications Engineering. He further earned his Master’s in Engineering from the prestigious IIT Roorkee, and has undergone advanced executive training at international institutes including INSEAD Singapore and ICLIF Malaysia—equipping him with a global perspective on governance and leadership.
Throughout his distinguished career spanning over 27 years, Shri Verma has held several key positions in the Indian Railways and the Government of India. His notable assignments include serving as Additional Divisional Railway Manager (ADRM) of the Mughalsarai Division (now Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Division) and as Executive Director at the Research Design and Standards Organisation (RDSO), Lucknow. In each role, he has demonstrated a remarkable ability to drive operational efficiency, foster innovation, and uphold the highest standards of quality and integrity.
He also served as Government Nominee Director on the Boards of major PSUs such as Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL) and ITI Limited, where his strategic insights and administrative acumen were highly valued.
