SJVN undertakes cleanliness drive at Malyana Village, Shimla

In the series of various activities towards promoting and propagating the Sawachhta Pakhwada in Shimla and around, SJVN  organised a cleanliness drive at Shiv Gufa temple situated on National highway -22 (Bypass road) at village Malyana near Shimla. Mrs Kusum Sadret, Mayor of Shimla Municipal Corporation flagged off the swachta drive also participated in furthering mission of the drive. She informed that the Municipal Corporation was a lot more concerned in promoting cleanliness in the city for which it had engaged an agency for door to door collection of household waste while public dustbins too had been provided at a number of places in the city and around.
She was apprised of the various swatchhata activities being organised by Shri Amit Kumar Mukherjee, Chief General Manager (HR). She was informed that the company was undertaking a host of activities viz installation of dustbins at public places like bus stops, railway station,  parks etc. Mayor appreciated the swachh bharat mission being undertaken by SJVN Limited and later inaugurated the company’s installation drive of twin dust bins from the temple complex. The company plans to install more Dustbins during the pakhwada.

A large number of SJVN employees along with members of temple management and market committee participated in the cleanliness drive in the village. Talking to the villagers and participants of the drive, Shri Mukherjee requested them to develop the habit of disposing their waste in the bins instead of spilling it on the road sides. The blue dustbin, he told should be used for wet waste and green bin for dry waste.
The Swatchhata Pakhwada activities commenced on 16th May at company’s corporate office near Malyana with administration of pledge to the employees by Shri Kanwar Singh, Director

( Civil). The company has launched the drive at its 12 projects and offices in 6 states of the country viz Himachal Pradesh, Uttrakhand. Gujarat. Maharashtra, Bihar and Delhi.
